Our April Facebook Fan Discount is focused on Heartworm Prevention. Heartworms can infect your pet without you knowing it. The best protection is to prevent heartworm disease, which is transmitted by infected mosquitoes that bite your pet. If your pet is diagnosed with heartworm disease, the risk, expense and emotional toll of treatment are significant. Therefore, we follow the same recommendations as the American Heartworm Society, and that is to administer heartworm preventative to your pet year round.
As for our feline pets, unlike with dogs, heartworm disease is not detectable, which makes prevention even more important. Even "inside only" cats can be bitten by an infected mosquito that has made its way into your home.
