Our Veterinarians:
Drew Luce, D.V.M. (Owner)
Dr. Luce graduated from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1990 after completing an internship at Castleton Farms and Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.
Over the past ten years, Dr. Luce has been a mixed animal practitioner. He has treated dogs, cats, horses and farm animals while focusing on his interests in surgery, reproduction and auto-immune diseases.
Dr. Luce and his wife, Aimee, and sons, Tyler and Aiden, live in Aldie, VA with their Doberman named Amber.
Beth Hood, D.V.M.
Dr. Hood is a graduate of the University of Tennessee, College of Veterinary Medicine. She has spent ten of her 20 years in small animal practice specializing in emergency and critical care medicine. In 2001, Dr. Hood joined the staff of Aldie Veterinary Hospital and is currently working part time.
Dr. Hood, her husband, Chris, and their son, Erik, live in Unison, Va.
Jodi Carlson, V.M.D., M.S.
Dr. Carlson is a graduate of the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Veterinary Medicine. She has worked for the last 8 years in small animal practices where her primary focus has been in diagnostics and internal mediine. Prior to veterinary school, Dr. Carlson earned her Master's Degree in Animal Science from the University of Maryland, College Park. In her life before animal science Dr. Carlson was a geochemist, examining oceanic rocks and meteorites.
Dr. Carlson lives in Haymarket with her big dog, Tasha, and her old cat, Joshua.

Licensed Veterinary Technicians
Karen Dendler, L.V.T.
Karen has been working in the veterinary field since 1994. She received a Bachelor's of Science degree in Biology from Shepherd College in May of 1994. After that, she went to Northern Virginia Community College in September of 1995 and received a degree in Veterinary Technology in May of 1997. She received her license in July of 1997. Karen started working at Aldie Veterinary Hospital in April of 2000.
Some of her hobbies include reading, watching movies, and vacationing at the beach with her husband, Jerome and son, Joshua. She also has three cats and lots of fish.
Beth Shelton, L.V.T.
Beth has been in the veterinary field since 1994. She graduated from Northern Virginia Community College with a degree in veterinary technology in 2001. She has a Bull Terrier mix named Ryplie. Beth began working at Aldie Veterinary Hospital in 2004. In her "spare" time, Beth is an avid bowler.
Kimberly Haugli, L.V.T.
Kim is new to the veterinary field. However, working with animals has been her passion her entire life. She has been in the equine industry for 13 years working as a horse trainer and riding instructor. In May of 2004, she graduated from Morrisville State College in New York with a Bachelor's Degree in Equine Science and Management. She then went on to attend SUNY Delhi in New York to obtain her Associate's Degree in Veterinary Science Technology. In March 2006 she received her Veterinary Technician's license. Kim and her husband Brian have recently moved to Virginia from Syracuse, NY. She has a cat named Angel and a hooded rat named Gavin the Rat Jr.

Joannie Rhodes
Joannie is a native of Herndon and has seen many changes in the area. She was an active member in the Fairfax Co. 4-H club for several years as well as a junior leader. She participated in livestock and horse judging teams and egg grading teams.
Joannie has worked in various boarding kennels as a manager and saw to it that all the animals were safe and comfortable during their stay. It was then that she started pet grooming. She has also worked in other vet hospitals and with elderly people.
Joannie loves animals and owns a number of pets from exotics to her favorite animal, horses...not to mention her pet goat L.B.
She has a big heart for the little geriatric pets and would give them a home in a heartbeat. Most of all, Joannie really enjoys being with her daughter Kim, who resides in Florida with her husband.

Judy Clendening
Judy Clendening has lived in South Riding since 1997. She has a Bachelors of Science in Education and has worked for Aldie Veterinary Hospital since May of 2004. Judy has been married for 30 years and has 2 grown boys. She has 2 dogs, Tippy, a Chihuahua and Phoebe, a Boston Terrier.
Pam Gibson
Pam grew up in Pittsburg, then moved to Ohio and Virginia before joining the US Army which landed her in California, where she remained for 23 years. Pam owned a pet salon where she groomed animals for 16 years. She professionally handled, groomed, and showed dogs for AKC shows as well as having owned and finished Afghan Hounds and Tibetan Terriers. She recently moved back to Virginia to be closer to her family. Pam is very proud of her son, Patrick, who is currently in college. Webster, a toy poodle, is the proud owner of Pam.
Michelle Jones
Michelle, originally from Ohio, has lived in Northern Virginia for the last 22 years. She has two children, James who is 13 years old and Chris who is 11 years old. Michelle also has three younger siblings, Ryan, Karen, and of course the family dog, Tashia.
Karen Stevenson
Karen has had many years experience in the field of customer service from running the front counter at a bakery to a manning a call center for AAA Mid-Atlantic. She began working at AVH in 2006. Her love for animals started when growing up on a small farm in Fredericksburg, VA. She, now, lives in Northern Virginia with her husband Kenny, Goliath, her Labrador, and two cats, Pooh and Tigger.

David Scheip
David graduated from Robert E. Lee H.S. in 2004. He has been an employee at Aldie Veterinary Hospital since August 2005. David attended Shepherd University in WV, transferred to Northern Virginia Community College, and is now attending Penn Foster working on his Veterinary Technician Degree. He has 4 siblings, 1 niece, 1 nephew, and a black lab named Johnny Rebel.
Rabia Salam, D.V.M., M.S.
Rabia began working at Aldie Veterinary Hospital in January 2006, but has been in the veterinary field since 1995. She obtained her DVM degree from the College of Veterinary Sciences Lahore, Pakistan in 1999. She also obtained her MS Pathology degree from University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Pakistan in 2002. She moved to America in November 2005 and is planning to take her Veterinarian license exam in near future. She lives in South Riding, VA with her brothers and loves to spend time with her family.
Jessica Munroe
Jessica has worked at Aldie Veterinary Hospital since June of 2003. After college, Jessica hopes to go on to become a veterinarian!
Reba Stevens
Reba has been working at Aldie Veterinary Hospital since June of 2004. She is a freshman at George Mason University and plans to either pursue a career with animals or become a chiropractor.
Kiersten Pribble
Kiersten grew up in Utah, but has lived in Virginia for two years. In addition to her many fish, she has a Chihuahua named Misty and 2 cats named Puppy and Munkee. She has worked in the veterinary field for a year and plans to attend the veterinary technician program at NOVA.
