Dr. Allgood is a Georgia native who graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine with a doctorate of veterinary medicine and a certificate in aquatic animal health. Dr. Allgood is a mentor at heart and therefore has a passion in teaching. This led her to achieve a Master of Science in Environmental Education. She also has a Bachelor’s in Fisheries, Wildlife, and Conservation Biology at Colorado State University.
After graduation, Dr. Allgood was selected to participate in two separate internships that expanded and solidified her knowledge in small animal, emergency and critical care, surgery, internal medicine, and exotic medicine. She truly enjoys learning as much as she can about all aspects of veterinary medicine. Some of her favorite topics include emergency and critical care, quality of life and geriatric medicine, surgery, cardiology, neurology, and shelter medicine.
When not caring for fur babies, Dr. Allgood considers herself an amateur artist (painting, ceramics, redoing old furniture). She is also a collector and propagator of rare succulents and cacti, travels (has visited every continent except for Antarctica), and loves live music and standup comedy.
Dr. Allgood recently moved to the Virginia area and absolutely loves it. She enjoys spending time with her three cats (Harriet, Grover, and Leia), and the biggest lovebug, Otis the Basset Hound.
